Will You Be The Next Social Entrepreneur?

There are a lot of things I have learned in Mr. Quiñones's talk in our class last Friday. I was actually a little spaced out that day because it was also the day of our thesis defense. Honestly speaking, I don't think there's anybody who wouldn't be nervous in a thesis defense no matter how prepared you are. Going back to Mr. Quiñones's talk, when I heard that he was from a CSR-related company or something (I didn't exactly remember the company's name), I thought he would talk about the typical stuff I always hear about CSR like providing good service to the customers and all those bunch of typical ideas. Actually, I thought the talk would be boring and be a bunch of baloney since CSR-related talks were always similar to one another which has made it quite a non-sense hearing the same things from different people.

Anyway, when I heard the title of the talk, I thought it sounded like some kind of talent contest or something of that sorts. It was a little stupid of me to think of it that way but it was really the first thing that popped out of my head. I actually expected it to be boring but funny somehow. Anyways, I learned a lot from Mr. Quiñones through his talk. He did not speak some gibberish or some things I'm very familiar with. He actually made sense in my opinion and I would say that the most important things I have learned from him are the different mental models and the fact that aside from earning money, entrepreneurs have other functions or rather goals they want to obtain. The mental models are actually the things that give us a hard time to learn. A good entrepreneur can learn and the greatest challenge we face are our learning disabilities. It was a bit funny the way that the speaker has discussed this but in between the good laughs and serious discussions, I  was able to relate a lot of situations to everything he discussed little by little.
